Bible and Theology

About this course

In our Bible and Theology program, our goal is for the Bible to come alive for you in a new and deeply personal way.

Together, we will journey through Scripture—exploring its grand narrative as it unfolds from beginning to end. Along the way, we’ll draw from both systematic theology and biblical theology to uncover the major themes of the Bible. Systematic theology helps us understand key truths organized by topic. Biblical theology traces how those truths develop throughout the story of Scripture.

That’s why the guiding question we’ll explore is: “What is the whole Bible really about?”

The Bible is a vast and powerful collection—66 books forming one story. It’s easy to read parts of it and miss the bigger picture. This course will help you gain a solid understanding of the Bible as a whole, and how it all fits together. But more than that, our focus is not just on information—it’s on revelation that leads to transformation.

Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” The Apostle Paul urges us to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” That’s the heartbeat of this course.

There’s something powerful about the moment someone lights up because a truth from Scripture becomes real to them. In that moment, something shifts—freedom begins.

Ultimately, our deepest desire is that through this course, you will encounter God and experience the Father’s love in a life-changing way. In a world full of confusion about identity and worth, we want you to discover the grace and truth that will equip you for every part of life.

In this course, you will learn:

+ To understand the Bible as one unified story

+ To recognize how theological truths shape that story

+ That the Bible is not just about information—but revelation that transforms

STEPS – Journey to Freedom

About this elective

STEPS is about how to break patterns and unhealthy behaviors and to gain the understanding of what is my part to do in this and what is God´s part to do in me.

What you get out of STEPS

We want to strengthen the whole person. Strengthen your belief in yourself as valuable, strengthen your understanding of yourself in community with others, and strengthen your faith and understanding of value and identity in God.

STEPS is about breaking patterns and unhelpful behaviors that prevent you from living life to the fullest. We all struggle with something: low self-esteem, lack of confidence, fear, anger, control issues, setting boundaries and more. These things affect our daily lives and our relationships with others – and can often be difficult to talk about and seek help for.

STEPS allows you to zoom in and work on the things that are holding you back in a safe and supportive community through teaching, conversations, reflections and guidance.

STEPS is a course that uses biblical principles to receive God’s help to break patterns and overcome our unhelpful behavior. The basic principle behind STEPS is that we as humans are designed to live in peace. Peace with God, peace with ourselves and peace with people around us. Some of us may have lost that peace through circumstances beyond our control. Maybe something happened to us when we were younger. Maybe we grew up in a home where our basic needs were not taken care of. For others, the lack of peace seems to come from the negative thought or behavior pattern we’re struggling with right now. Or sometimes life is just a lot more complicated than we thought it would be and what are we going to do about it?

STEPS is one way to deal with it, as this course seeks to restore that peace.

In the STEPS course, we investigate our own lives and ask ourselves the following questions:

  1. What are my values, and do I live by them?
  2. Are there patterns in the way I think, feel or react that are not helpful?
  3. How do I establish new patterns to live life to the fullest?

In this elective, you will learn:

+ Trust God’s care and rely on His strength in your life

+ Confront challenges and develop healthy behaviors

+ Practice forgiveness — giving it freely and receiving it wholeheartedly

+ Make thoughtful, healthy choices for your life

+ Walk on a meaningful journey with Jesus

  2. A Story – A story is the most powerful way to tell the world about an idea. – Robert Mackie
  3. Training – Communication works for those who work at it. – John Powell

Everyone carries a lifetime of stories waiting to be told. Your voice matters. Your stories matter. This elective is about giving you the platform, tools, and encouragement to share those stories in a way that brings transformation to others.

You’ll also have the opportunity to present your ideas on stage and develop individual or group projects using creative and modern communication platforms.

Leadership & Innovation

About this elective

At its core, leadership is about growth—and great leaders aren’t born; they’re developed. At Acts Academy, we believe in shaping future leaders through practical experience, mentoring, and a foundation rooted in Jesus, the ultimate example of leadership. He formed a team that changed the world through courage and innovation—yet they began as ordinary, uncertain people. We believe the same transformation is possible for you.

This elective invites you into a hands-on leadership journey where you’ll explore key principles such as authentic leadership, team-building, conflict resolution, cultural transformation, and how to turn vision into reality. Whether you’re dreaming of launching a new ministry, organization, church, or simply want to grow as a leader in your local church or community, this track will equip you with tools from experienced leaders across an international network of churches and businesses.

At Acts Academy, we are passionate about shaping leaders who can influence churches, communities, and society at large. Through a blend of teaching, mentoring, teamwork, and practical application, you’ll grow into a leader who shows courage, takes responsibility, empowers others, and creates real change.

We are committed to drawing out the best in you. In an environment that values personal development, empathy, curiosity, and excellence, you’ll develop the courage and creativity needed to lead well in any setting.

In Leadership & Innovation, we focus on leadership in three key areas: Leading yourself, Leading others, Leading in context

Each area is revisited throughout the year in approximately three-week modules combining theory, group work, mentoring, and reflection. You’ll also gain skills in project management and take on real leadership challenges—such as leading a mission trip.

Students will complete three written assignments (approx. 1,000 words each), in either Danish or English. While no prior leadership experience is required, we expect each participant to fully engage with the material and commit to personal growth. A course compendium will be provided for study and further development.

In this elective, you will learn:

+ Lead yourself with integrity and clarity

+ Lead and empower others effectively

+ Lead within your unique contex

Creative Lab

About this elective

Creative Lab is for musicians, singers, and producers who want to grow creatively and spiritually through music. Whether you’re into songwriting, production, performance, or all of the above, this elective is designed to help you develop your talent step by step—with room for experimentation, inspiration, and growth.

At Creative Lab, we believe creativity is nurtured through exposure and output. That’s why the course integrates inspiration from various art forms like theater, poetry, and stage performance, and channels that inspiration into original works—new songs, creatively arranged covers, and live performances.

You’ll be supported through the entire creative process: from the spark of an idea, to writing and arranging, to studio production and live performance. You’ll have access to our professional studio facilities, and throughout the year, you’ll spend time outside scheduled class hours writing, recording, and producing music.

You’ll also have opportunities to share your work at events such as Open Mic Nights and concerts, where you’ll learn how to create an atmosphere and connect with an audience. Some weeks are dedicated to stage expression training with a physical theater teacher, helping you grow your confidence and impact as a performer.

Equipment

The school studio is equipped with Logic and Ableton, but students are encouraged to bring their own instrument and laptop with a DAW (e.g., Logic or Ableton). While the school has instruments available for short-term use, it’s best to bring your own for consistent access throughout the year.

Special Events & Opportunities:

OneHeart Conference

As part of the Creative Lab program, you’ll participate in OneHeart, a conference hosted by Acts Academy for worship and tech teams from churches across Denmark and beyond. You’ll gain hands-on experience, attend workshops, and connect with other creatives serving the local church.

Songwriting Camp

Held every January, the Songwriting Camp brings together professional Danish and international songwriters and producers. Creative Lab students get to collaborate with these professionals, gaining invaluable insights, experience, and networking opportunities—maybe even contributing to the next worship hit sung in churches across Denmark.

Performances

Throughout the year, you’ll perform at a variety of events. Teachers will help you create a piece that matches your level and style, but it’s your responsibility to prepare and rehearse. These events help you gain real-life experience in performance, planning, and creative direction.

Study trip and Mission trip

Every other year, we take a study trip to experience global creativity. These trips include visits to churches, live music venues, theater performances, studios, and more. It’s a chance to be inspired by music, art, architecture, and culture from other parts of the world.  Like all Acts Academy students, you’ll join a mission trip—bringing hope, creativity, and the gospel across cultural and language barriers. Creative Lab students often lead worship and present works that support the message and mission.

Church Involvement

Acts Academy serves as a training ground for the local church. Our Bible school is church-based, meaning our teaching and daily life are deeply integrated with local church ministry. Students experience this close connection through classes, events, and hands-on involvement in church life.

Internship in your own local church

To reinforce what students learn in class, Acts Academy arranges internships in local churches, typically Friday–Sunday. The internships are set up as a three-way agreement between the student, the church, and the school, and include clear expectations regarding tasks, follow-up, accommodations, and financial aspects.

Where a local church internship is not possible, we collaborate with other churches. Some students are also involved in Church City’s outreach and social work.

“The internship was an opportunity for me to be stretched in my capacity. I felt God speaking to me to ‘make myself available to the body’ and although there was some discomfort associated with being stretched, I have experienced God’s pleasure in my obedience.”

Daniel
DENMARK
2020/2022

For Pastors and Church Leaders

Many churches want to see their best people grow even stronger. That’s why the concept of one-year interns has gained popularity.

We offer a setup where students receive top-tier education four days a week and then apply their learning directly in their church. Our teaching focuses on identity, character, relationships, Christlikeness, calling, and giftings — equipping students to impact both church and society.

We expect churches to stay closely involved with their student throughout the internship, offering support and feedback. This ongoing relationship strengthens both the student’s development and the church community.

“It has been great to have Daniel as an intern at Silkeborg Frikirke. Throughout the entire process, the school’s desire to support the life of the local church has been evident in the approach to the tasks that Daniel had to solve. As a local church, it is super valuable to get a student in an internship who has both the skills AND the heart to serve locally. We will do it again!”

FORMER PASTOR, SILKEBORG FRIKIRKE

Personal Development

Individual Mentoring

We are committed to helping students become the best version of who God created them to be. That’s why all second-year students are offered individual mentoring sessions, and first-year students can request them as well.

Mentors meet with students for 45 minutes every other week to help them reach personal and spiritual goals, using practical tools for growth and development.

Internship Supervisor

Every student is assigned a supervisor during their internship to provide feedback, guidance, and support — ensuring a fruitful and transformative experience.

Life Groups

All students are part of a life group — a smaller community where faith, life, and friendships are shared. These groups foster belonging, encouragement, and accountability.

Traveling is an adventure!

Throughout the year, students embark on several trips that foster spiritual growth, community, and cultural awareness.

Study Trips

Held in the fall, these trips connect with classroom learning. Recent destinations include Scotland, Israel, and Italy.

  • Duration: 5–7 days
  • Cost: DKK 3,000–5,000

Mission Trips

Each spring, all students go on mission trips. These are hands-on outreach opportunities where students apply what they’ve learned in cross-cultural settings, participating in social work, teaching, worship, prison ministry, and more.

We offer both budget-friendly trips within Europe and more extensive trips to Africa or Asia. Accommodations are often arranged with local families.

  • Duration: 8–16 days
  • Cost: DKK 3,000–10,000

Ski Trips

Every year in week 5, we travel to Stöten, Sweden, for an unforgettable ski adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned skier or trying it for the first time, you’ll experience fun, fellowship, and personal growth.

The People’s Festival

Each June, Acts Academy participates in Denmark’s largest political event on Bornholm. We help host debates in the ‘Between Heaven and Earth’ tent, giving students the chance to reflect on society and express their faith in a public context.
