Living Together

Community is at the heart of
Acts Academy!

The cohousing community is a natural part of life at Bible School. You’ll build strong relationships and have the opportunity to grow—both personally and spiritually. This shared experience allows you to encourage one another, develop your character, and create lifelong friendships.

Beyond personal growth, the cohousing community also brings plenty of fun, laughter, and everyday socializing. Many students cherish the sense of belonging and the joy of supporting each other on the journey.

World-class gourmet!

At Acts Academy, food is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. We’ve brought together a passionate kitchen team led by our head chef, Rasmus Mortensen, who, along with Mussi and Gitte, creates nourishing and delicious food made with care, creativity, and love.

Our chefs are dedicated to serving healthy and flavorful meals every day, using fresh ingredients to fuel both body and soul. But it’s not just about what’s on the plate—Rasmus has also played a key role in shaping the warm, communal atmosphere in our large dining hall. It’s a space where students come together, share stories, and build lasting friendships around the table.

Whether you’re enjoying a comforting dish on a rainy day or something fresh and energising before a full schedule, the food at Acts Academy will leave you both satisfied and inspired.

Practical work

A Part of Your Development!

Practical work is more than just chores—it’s a way to honor each other, take responsibility, and care for the school community.

Serving in areas often unnoticed by others allows you to develop a servant-hearted attitude and gain a sense of purpose in everyday tasks. Because practical work is part of life, every student takes on daily responsibilities during lunch or after school.

Types of Tasks

Daily tasks mainly include cleaning, serving, and dishwashing:
+Cleaning common areas (vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning toilets and showers)
+Serving morning coffee and lunch (hot meals)
+Meal preparation (students help with breakfast and dinner)
+Dishwashing after meals

Events – Bringing People Together

Throughout the year, we host major events—an opportunity to connect people, create memorable experiences, and draw them closer to God.

Students play an active role in these events, taking on various responsibilities. Expect 3–4 larger events and multiple smaller gatherings throughout the year.

Together, we strive to create a welcoming atmosphere and ensure that every guest feels at home.

Leisure

Make the Most of Your Free Time

As a folk high school student, much of your free time is spent together with your peers. What you do is up to you, and there are plenty of options:

Fitness & Sports – Work out in the small gym, play sports in the hall, or enjoy the beautiful surroundings—perfect for a run!

Movies, Games & Fun – Hang out in the newly designed dining hall, the student lounge, or in your rooms. In summer, the school park is an ideal place to relax and socialize.

Library & Study Spaces – Find your next great read, create a focused study environment, or simply enjoy a quiet retreat.

Kolding City, Beach & Mall – Just a few kilometers away, you’ll find shops, cafés, and a vibrant city atmosphere.

Small Groups & Church Life – We encourage everyone to join or start a small group—a great way to grow together and connect with people outside the school.

Church Activities – Students are involved in various church events and can serve in different ministries during weekdays.

Financial Support

Funding your stay at Bible School

For Danish students and European students, tuition is paid on an ongoing basis. Please plan ahead to ensure financial stability during your stay. The best way to fund your stay is through savings, eliminating financial stress. Consider working during summer holidays or while in high school to save up.

Support from your network

Many churches support Bible college students as their training benefits the congregation.

Family and friends may also provide financial help, either as a one-time gift or monthly support.

Loans

As a last resort, you may consider taking a private or bank loan.

A one-year stay at Bible college costs approximately 60.000 DKK (excluding pocket money).

Scholarships and Financial Support

SU – State Education Grant

Bible college students are not eligible for SU.

However, if you already receive SU and can attend Bible college simultaneously, you may continue receiving SU (e.g., during maternity leave or while writing a final assignment).

Student Fund

Acts Academy has a Student Fund where students can apply for financial aid after their first semester.

Funding is limited and depends on the number of applicants.

The Student Fund cannot cover the full cost of tuition but can provide partial support.

Financial Support for Unemployed Youth (Under 25)

If you are under 25 and unemployed, you may receive 50% of the highest unemployment benefit rate for up to 6 months.

You must remain available to the labor market and be willing to interrupt your studies if you find work.

Social Assistance & Integration Benefit

If you receive social assistance, educational assistance, or integration benefits, you can attend folk high school while continuing to receive benefits.

You must cover tuition yourself and remain available to the labor market.

You may also apply for financial aid as part of an activation program (contact your job consultant for details).

Support for Faroese and Greenlanders

There is financial support for Faroe Islands & Greenland.

If you are between 18-25 years old and from the Faroe Islands or Greenland, you can apply for support for up to 20 weeks.

The current support rate is 700 DKK per week.

Application deadlines:

April 1 (for the autumn semester)

October 1 (for the spring semester)

You must first enroll at the school before applying.
